An institution. No.
THE Institution.
They say before there was even a Lubbock, the One Guy was there. Among the vast empty space, he toiled day and night without rest, without hunger or thirst, making calzones in a ceaseless quest to perfect his art.
Let me tell you, his art, is *perfection.*
Do yourself a favor. Stop in. Order a calzone. Sit down. Eat that calzone. Then pay your respects to that One Guy.
Dario is his name.
Whoops. [Spoiler Alert] -

I've been here a couple times. It's a staple for many students at Texas tech. If you're into good portioned food this is the place for you. I've had almost everything on the menu from the calamari to the calzones. All items have pros and cons. Here's a couple thoughts on my favorite, the calzones and pizza:
Calzones:
pros-huge, and delicious. Freshly made and good quality ingredients that are evenly distributed. my personal favorite being the pepperoni ones.
Cons- very greasy lately. Dripping with grease. If you let it sit too long it'll pour out from the sides and your calzone will be floating in hot grease. Your hands will be covered in grease. Grease grease.
Pizza:
Pros- cheap~ish. Good size and girth. Cheese is excellent. Topping can make it very expensive very quickly. $1.75 for every extra topping besides cheese.
Cons- it is honestly nothing special. It's pizza and they didn't fuck it up. -

The best pizza I've had outside of New York - no joke.
Yes, this place really is that good!
It's a cozy establishment that has a real history in Lubbock. Great service with competitive pricing ($5 for 2 slices, $7 calzone with drink during lunch hours).
I always get a slice of pepperoni or their house calzone - both 5 stars worthy. Their crust is amazingly crisp and their sauce is just wonderful. Everything is fresh and tastes perfect. They consistently wipe the floor with all other competition (capital pizza, orlando's, etc.)
If you live in Lubbock and you haven't been here -- what are you doing?? Quit playin' yourself. -

Amazing!!!! Hands down best pizza I've ever had! We have nothing like this back in Ohio. Don't think twice about going here just go!

Absolutely good pizza and calzones. Generous portions and a friendly atmosphere. My brother, a more regular customer, told me it's even better when the eponymous One Guy is handling the kitchen. I can't believe it gets better than what I got. I got the House specialty calzone. The ratios of the meats and cheese and sauce were perfect. It was a demonstration of what a calzone ought to be.
Ranch for $0.50 is a bit annoying.
